This painting is an off-shoot of sorts from the painting Shredded. Shredded was on display and a potential customer mentioned wanting to see a cello with keyboard/piano. After a little thought, Heartbeat was born. The music is not as loud, screaming like Shredded, but a bit more mellow, blue light, evening sky. The square pieces ‘beating’ from the cello are raised pieces attached to the canvas and again the strings are wires attached – to accentuate the 3D look.
